Curriculum Vuga School

At Vuga School, we believe that early education sets the foundation for lifelong learning. Our curriculum for Pre-Primary and Primary (Standard One to Standard Three) is designed to provide a balanced approach that encourages academic excellence, creativity, and personal growth.

Pre-Primary Curriculum | Nursery & Kindergarten

Our Pre-Primary program focuses on creating a joyful and stimulating learning environment that nurtures each child’s curiosity and creativity. We use play-based learning to help children develop essential early skills while building a love for learning.

Language and Literacy Development
  • Introduction to letters and sounds.
  • Early reading through phonics and storytelling.
  • Developing speaking and listening skills through songs, poems, and conversations.
Numeracy Skills
  • Basic counting and number recognition.
  • Introduction to shapes, patterns, and measurements through hands-on activities.
  • Simple problem-solving exercises to encourage logical thinking.
Social and Emotional Development
  • Encouraging cooperation, sharing, and communication in group settings.
  • Developing emotional awareness and the ability to express feelings in a healthy way.
Physical Development
  • Gross motor skills development through physical activities like running, jumping, and playing games.
  • Fine motor skills development through drawing, cutting, and crafting.
Creative Arts
  • Exploring creativity through drawing, painting, music, and drama.

Environmental Awareness and Science

Primary Curriculum Standard One to Three

Our Primary Curriculum is designed to deepen students' knowledge and build on the foundation established in Pre-Primary. The curriculum integrates core academic subjects with extracurricular activities to ensure holistic development.

English
  • Standard One: Focus on basic reading and writing skills, vocabulary building, and sentence formation.
  • Standard Two: Emphasis on reading comprehension, simple grammar, and creative writing.
  • Standard Three: Developing fluency in reading and writing, introducing paragraph writing, and strengthening grammar and punctuation skills.
Mathematics
  • Standard One: Basic number concepts, simple addition and subtraction, and introduction to shapes and measurements.
  • Standard Two: Problem-solving skills, basic multiplication, and division, and deeper understanding of time, money, and measurements.
  • Standard Three: More advanced concepts including fractions, geometry, and word problems, along with continued work on multiplication and division.
Science
  • Standard One: Introduction to the natural world, plants, animals, weather, and basic human body systems.
  • Standard Two: Understanding simple scientific principles like the water cycle, basic properties of materials, and the importance of health and hygiene.
  • Standard Three: Exploring energy, forces, and the environment, with hands-on experiments and activities.
Social Studies
  • Standard One: Basic understanding of family, community, and local culture.
  • Standard Two: Introduction to Tanzanian history, geography, and civic responsibilities.
  • Standard Three: Exploring cultural diversity, national symbols, and the importance of good citizenship and environmental care.
Kiswahili
  • Focus on building strong communication skills in Kiswahili.
  • Standard One: Introduction to Kiswahili vocabulary, basic sentences, and conversation practice.
  • Standard Two and Three: Expanding vocabulary, improving reading and writing, and learning grammar.
Physical Education (P.E.)
  • Daily physical activities and structured games to promote fitness, coordination, and teamwork.
  • Introduction to basic sports and exercises that develop gross motor skills.
